MASS IN POLISH AND PROCESSION

On May 18^th, Mass in the Polish language will be celebrated here at 3:00 p.m. A Corpus Christi procession around the property will follow Mass.

 

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS NEEDED

Please consider sharing in this ministry. The need is greatest for Sat. at 4:00 and Sunday at 11:30. A sign up sheet is located in the back of the church if interested, or you may call the office for more information.

BELLS of ST. MARY’S LEGACY CAMPAIGN

 

We are well on our way towards our goal of $450,000. with $110,000. already pledged!  We are asking that all parishioners prayerfully consider giving to this three year campaign.  The money goes to restore our bells and clocks, and to support our school through tuition assistance.  Brochures are available for those who did not receive one.  You can drop your pledge card into the collection basket, bring it to the parish office, or put it in the mail.  Your donation will make a lasting difference in the life of our parish and school.  Thank you for your consideration! 

 

McARTHUR APPEAL

Items needed for the St. Francis Center are soap products, toilet tissue, household items, bedding, furniture, and summer clothing. Small items may be left in the rear of the church. For pick up of larger items contact Catherine at 443-6154. The trip to McArthur is scheduled for June 2, 2008.

 

CATHOLIC CEMETERIES

Offices at St. Joseph, Resurrection, and Holy Cross Cemeteries will be open on Sundays, May 4, 11, and 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Family Service Advisors will be available to assist families with pre-need arrangements and answer questions. Memorial Day weekend office hours are: 8:00-2:00 on May 24^th, 11:00-3:00 on May 25^th, 9:00-3:00 on May 26^th. Memorial Day Masses will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph, Mt. Calvary, and Holy Cross and at 1:00 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery.

 

KNIGHTS of COLUMBUS PANCAKE BREAKFAST

The Bishop Hartley Choir will hold their 2008 spring concert here in the church at 7:00 p.m. on Mon., May 19^th.

 

YOUNG ADULTS

Are you looking for a fun way to learn more about your Catholic faith and meet people who share it? Join us for Theology and a Pub at the Columbus Maennerchor, 966 So. High St., on Thursday, May 22^nd.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the discussion begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is just $2.00, and food and drink are available for purchase. This month’s speaker is Mark Butler, director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry in the Diocese of Columbus. He will tell us the story of how we got to be the diocese we are today.

 

ST. MARY HIGH SCHOOL REUNION PICNIC

PLAN  AHEAD

 

On October 13, 14 and 15, St. Mary’s will enjoy an evening parish retreat, also known as a Parish Mission. Father John Collins of the Paulist Fathers will speak each evening on the theme of events in our lives in which we experience God. Father Thomas says Father Collins is the best mission preacher he has ever heard, and he asks that all organizations, committees and clubs clear those dates so that their members are able to come to the mission talks.

 

JULY PLANNING SESSIONS

 

On July 13, 20 and 27, at 10:00 a.m. all interested parishioners are invited to participate in a parish self study authored by the diocese. We will take the results of our study to a meeting with our fellow deanery parishes (St. Mary Groveport, St. Ladislas, Corpus Christi) to propose ideas to the diocese about how these parishes can best serve the people of our area.

 

MEMORIAL DAY MASS AND MAY CROWNING

 

The 12:00 Mass on May 26^th will honor those our nation remembers on Memorial Day. After the Mass, a May Crowning service will be led by Father Thomas.

 

 

CORPUS CHRISTI SUNDAY

At 12:30 on May 25^th, there will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 3:00.  Exposition will close at 3:00 with Benediction.  There are three First Masses of the newly ordained priests on that day.  Please remember the new priests in your prayers, and pray for all the travelers coming and going to their celebrations.  

 

ST. MARY SCHOOL THANK YOU

Thank you to all parishioners who are regularly recycling their cans and papers here. Each month we typically recycle over 8 TONS of paper!! Abitibi Recycling sends us on average a monthly check of $100.00 for that paper. In early May, we received an additional $400.00 because our school was tops in a recent competition to increase recycling. In March alone, we recycled 240 pounds of cans and received a check for $120.00 from Rumpke. Thank you for helping provide extra revenue for our school while taking care of God’s planet.
