BOOK CLUB: Adults of All Ages Welcome!
For March
we will be reading a book titled "Led by Faith: Rising from the Ashes of
the Rwandan Genocide" Which is the sequel to last month's book
selection titled, "Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan
Holocaust", both by Immaculee Ilibagiza (for information about her books
check out: http://www.immaculee.com/). We will meet at 10:00 a.m. between the morning Masses on Sunday, March 29th in the St. Mary School Cafeteria for
"Coffee & Donuts" and Book Club discussion. Please have the
entire book read so we don't spoil anything for you. For more information

ST. MARY SCHOOL NEWS
St. Mary School presents "Willy Wonka Jr." on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in the school
gym. Admission at the door will be $4.00
for adults and $2.00 for students. Come and enjoy an evening of "Imagination!"
RETREAT FOR THOSE WHO ARE
RECENTLY UNEMPLOYED… at St. Therese’s Retreat Center, 5277 E. Broad Street on Thursday, March 26, from 10 a.m. to 5
p.m.
In these difficult
economic times, many individuals and families are struggling to deal with
layoffs and unemployment. This retreat is intended to provide a space for
people who have
recently lost their jobs
or suffer from the current economic crisis. The retreat offers an opportunity
for people to come together and feel God’s loving presence and hear about
practical strategies for new employment and linkages that can be of assistance
to them. There is no cost for the retreat. A simple lunch and dinner will be
served at no cost. The optional dinner for retreat participants and their
families will follow the retreat. Please provide a count for dinner when you register.

YOUNG-AT-HEART NEWS
The
Young-at-Heart group will be making their spring trip to St. Francis Center in
McArthur, OH on April 6th.
The following items are needed: soap products, toilet tissue, household items,
and spring/summer clothing (please; no winter clothes). Articles may be left in
the rear of the church marked for McArthur. For additional information you may

anointing of the sick will take place after each mass next weekend on March 28
and 29.
PENANCE SERVICE
We will
celebrate our parish penance service for Lent on April 5th at 1:30 p.m.

CONCERT SERIES at ST. JOSEPH CATHEDRAL
On Mar.
27th at 7:30 p.m. Harald Vogel, director of the North German
Organ Academy and professor at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen will
perform. Mr. Vogel is recognized as a
leading authority on the interpretation of German organ music from the Gothic,
Renaissance, and the Baroque periods.
Reservations
are not required. A $10.00 suggested
donation will be collected at the door.

Hanson and Mary O’Reilly received praises from the Ohio Department of Education
recently for their tremendous efforts in feeding both breakfast and lunch every
school day to our students. They were recognized for well planned menus,
attractive food, good record keeping, and an overall quality food operation.

of St. John will be joining us for the 9:00 Mass next weekend. At the
conclusion of Mass, we will witness an Exemplification whereby Knights are
admitted to the Second and Third Degrees of their order. The Knights are
a fraternal and charitable organization who assists St. Mary’s in several ways
each year by their kind contributions and support of our activities.
