VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!
COFFEE
Anyone that would like to volunteer to serve coffee
and doughnuts between the 9:00 and 11:30 masses is asked to call Marge
Smigelski at 614-871-8142. Many of us take advantage of this time to socialize
either after or before mass and we are in need of new volunteers. Please
consider devoting one (1) Sunday every
couple months to this special ministry.
MARK your CALENDARS
Are you interested in learning about the Catholic faith? Are you
looking into joining the Church? Are you a Catholic who has been away for
a while? Did you miss confirmation? Then the Rite of Christian Initiation
(RCIA) is for you. It begins with a cook-out on August 19th, at 6:30 p.m. on the back patio of Father’s
house (to the right of the Church when facing it from 3rd
street). You can bring any support that you need. RCIA sessions will
be held each Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. Attending the classes does not
obligate you to entering the Church at Easter. We look forward to seeing
you in August!

REMINDERS
BELLS of ST.
Thanks to the generosity of parishioners we have pledged $95, 480.00
for 2009-2010 campaign. 100% of the monies
collected over our BAA goal of $48,000 stays right here at St. Mary’s!
Our goal for St. Mary’s is $150,000 a year over a three (3) year
period. These monies will be used for historic preservation of our
buildings and tuition assistance for those in need to attend our school.
Some possible visible building repairs needed are: Specht Center windows,
carpet in the sanctuary of the church, sidewalks in front of church and school,
etc. If you have not pledged or given to this important campaign please
prayerfully consider doing so. Campaign cards and brochures are in the
rear of the church near the picture of Pope Benedict. If you already
pledged, nothing further is required. We appreciate your generosity!

THEOLOGY and a
June’s session of Theology and a
Pub asks a simple question "Catholic Media, Not an Oxymoron". It
seems that there are a lot of things in the popular media that are not exactly
in keeping with the teachings of the Church and the Church is being looked upon
in an unfavorable light in return. So, where we get our information and entertainment
affects our perception. How do we make sure we are receiving the right message?
Join us at Gresso's on June 16th at 7:30
p.m. to hear David Garick, editor of the Catholic Times, talk to us about Catholic
media in our diocese and beyond. Gresso's is located at 961 South High Street.
Doors open at 6 and food and drink are available for purchase before the talk.
For more information go to www.theologyandapub.org.
