RCIA – 2009 – 2010
The topic for this week is “Jesus, Who do you say that I am”, presented
by Kevin Grimditch and Brendan Johnson, seminarians at the Josephinum. RCIA
sessions are held in the Atrium every Wed,
at 7:00 p.m. Sessions are open t0 anyone interested in learning more
about your faith. All are welcome!
RCIC: If
you have a child between the ages of 7-14 that is interested in becoming
Catholic please contact the parish office at 445.9668. The Rite of Christian
Initiation for Children (RCIC) is scheduled to begin soon and we need to
determine the class size to adequately prepare for these sessions.
KEEP IN
SACRAMENT OF PENANCE-SCHEDULE
CHANGE
The Sacrament of Penance is usually celebrated on
Saturday at 3:00 and on Monday right after the noon mass. However, it
will not be celebrated on Saturday, September 26 or Monday, September 28.
JORDAN CONFERENCE
The
quarterly Jordon Conference session for parents who wish to have a child
baptized will be held on October 27,
2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the atrium. Please contact the parish office at

LIVING
ROSARY
Come join your friends in Mary’s Garden at St. Leo
on Sunday, Oct. 4th at 3:00
p.m. to pray the “Living Rosary”. Please bring a folding chair. If
cold or rainy, we will hold inside. We will have flowers to represent each bead
of the Rosary as we pray together to honor Mary and ask her intercession for

BLESSING
of the ANIMALS
October
4th is the traditional feast day of St. Francis of
Assisi. There will be a blessing of animals on the rectory front lawn at
10:30 a.m. that day.
BIBLE
STUDY….is set to resume on Wed., Oct. 21st
at 6:00 p.m. in the Specht Center. We will study the book of 1st
Corinthians. Please contact the parish office at 445.9668 if you are interested
in joining us this year. We will be ordering study guides and want to make sure
we have enough for everyone.
CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES
Please
come to church on Sunday, October 4th
at
5:00 p.m. for a brief talk about Confirmation and a cookout at the
rectory. If you are in high school or in junior high and did not receive a
detailed schedule of Confirmation activities, please call 445.9668 to get on
the mailing list.
RESPECT
On Sunday, October 11th, there
will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 11:30 Mass, and
Benediction will close the exposition at 2:00 p.m. All are invited to
come pray for a greater respect for the sanctity of life in all cultures.
OUR PARISH POTLUCK PICNIC
Join us on
October 18th for a
potluck in the gym after the 11:30 mass. The Knights of Columbus will bring meats, buns and
pop. All are invited to bring side dishes of salad, vegetables or
dessert. Bring your own special beverages if you like. We will provide
paper goods and silverware.
MARIAN DINNER
The 3rd annual Marian dinner will be held
at St. Andrew Parish Bryce Eck Center, 3880 Reed Rd. at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12th. Bishop
Campbell will again host this event promoting women’s religious vocations.
During the event, women will have an opportunity to speak with vocation
directors from religious orders, visit displays, and hear from Bishop Campbell
and a member of a religious order about religious life, all while enjoying
camaraderie with others during a meal.

JESUS JAM 2009-10
Middle school and high
school youth and parents are invited to the first Jesus Jam of the new school
year on Sun. Oct. 18th
from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Catherine, 500 S. Gould Rd. Keynote speaker is
Justin Fatica and the theme for the night is “God is Love”. Jesus Jams are held the 3rd Sunday of
each month to help foster a deeper love for the liturgical and sacramental life
of the Church. The ultimate goal is to draw students into active participation
in the life, mission, and work of their local parish community. For more

MIRACLES
of the EUCHARIST
On Tuesday, Oct. 13th Holy Family Church at 584 W. Broad
St. will present the Vatican Pictorial
International Exhibition: The Eucharistic Miracles of the World. In
addition, they will host Bishop Athanasius Schneider, author of “Dominus Est”. Bishop Schneider will share his dramatic
story of living under Russian rule. The day will begin with mass at 9:00 a.m.,
the Holy Rosary, Confession, and close with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
Admission is free.
64TH DIOCESAN COUNCIL of CATHOLIC WOMEN CONVENTION…will be
held on Saturday, Oct. 31st
at St. Thomas Church in Zanesville, OH from 9:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. The cost is
$25.oo and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. The keynote speaker is
Marcus Grodi, seen regularly on EWTN. There will be a special mass with Bishop
Campbell followed by afternoon speakers, Julie Wong and Danielle Merry. For
