PASSION
FOR COMPASSION: REFLECTIONS ACROSS THE AGES….will be held at the Martin
de Porres Center, 2330 Airport Drive, Columbus on Saturday, February 13th from 10:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Office for Social Concerns of the Diocese of Columbus and
the Institute for Maturing Spiritualityof the Martin de Porres Center jointly
offer this program to bring elders and young people into dialogue on the topic
of living compassionately in today’s complex world. The event will include
presentations on compassion in the Old and New Testaments by Fr. Atwood and Sr.
Pat Twohill, with time for reflective “table talk” by elders and youth
following each presentation. A culminating activity will provide the
opportunity for participants to develop a tangible “product”—drawing, mandala,
poem, short essay, or recorded interview—representing each person’s commitment
to living compassionately, with these products published after the event as an
online “Community Chronicle of Compassion.” This event is free and open to the
public; however registration is required by February 9. For more
information, visit www.martindeporrescenter.net.
