SPECIAL COLLECTION

The Diocese of Columbus has designated the weekend of March 13-14, 2010 as a weekend for a special collection for Catholic Relief Services. Please use your preprinted collection envelope or mark your envelope accordingly so the funds can be posted to the proper account.

CHOIR MEMBERS NEEDED

Our funeral choir is seeking to welcome more singers. Funerals are typically held at 10:00 a.m. If your schedule will permit and you are inclined to help with this special ministry please contact the parish office at 445.9668.

BIBLE STUDY

After enjoying pizza at Plank’s this past Wednesday the bible study group will resume their study of the Word. We will begin the study of 2^nd Corinthians at 6:00 p.m. each Wednesday. All are welcome.

RCIA – 2009 – 2010

The RCIA session this week will be devoted to a discussion of “Heaven, Hell and Purgatory”. RCIA sessions are held in the Atrium every Wed, at 7:00 p.m. Sessions are open t0 anyone interested in learning more about your Catholic faith. All are welcome!

STATIONS of the CROSS will be held each Friday throughout the Lenten season at 7:00 p.m. The schedule and locations are as follows:

Mar. 12^th – Corpus Christi Mar. 19^th – St. Mary Mar. 26^th – St. Ladislas

The sacrament of reconciliation will be offered in addition to Stations.

Stations will also be held at St. Leo at 4:00 p.m. on the following Wednesday’s throughout Lent:

LENTEN MEAL BEFORE STATIONS

Corpus Christi and St. Ladislas parishes cordially invite our friends from St. Mary to join us for a Lenten soup and bread supper on the following Fridays of Lent: Friday, March 12, at Corpus Christi Parish, and Friday, March 26, at St. Ladislas Parish. At St. Ladislas, the supper will be held in the gathering place adjacent to the church sanctuary and at Corpus Christi in the social area adjacent to Corpus Christi church sanctuary. This supper will be held from 5:30-6:30 prior to Stations of the Cross. A free will offering is optional. Please join us! For more information please contact the parish office at 443-2828.

EASTER VIGIL

April 3, 2010: The Easter Vigil mass is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Please note, there will not be a 4:00 p.m. mass on Holy Saturday. Keep all our elect in your prayers throughout this Lenten season.

PENANCE SERVICE

We will celebrate our parish penance service for Lent on Palm Sunday, March 28^th at 2:00 p.m.

HUNGER CONCERNS

If you are approached by anyone asking for money on the church steps or the sidewalk prior to or after mass, please refer them to Father Thomas. We have avenues of assistance that we can recommend to those in need.

GALA UPDATE

· The numbers are in. The St. Mary Gala raised more than $30,500.00. This is the third year in a row that we have raised more than $30,000! Thank you for your support and continued generosity. Thanks to all who devoted their time, talent and treasure to making this event such a success.

· Have you been to the "Gish?" For 2010, the St. Mary gym has been named in honor of Dick Gischel, St. Mary class of '67; former St. Mary basketball coach and grandfather to the 4th generation of Gischel’s to attend St. Mary School. Congratulations and thank you to the Gischel family, this year's Gala winner.

YOUTH GROUP OUTING

COSI is currently showing a 40 minute film about dinosaurs in South America. On Sunday, March 14, the youth group will leave here at 4:30 p.m. for the 5:00 p.m. showing of the film, and return here for pizza and ice cream sandwiches. Youth group activities are open to junior high and high school aged parishioners. There is no charge for this activity. Call Father Thomas at 580.0421 if you would like to attend this outing.
